California - Palm Springs / Mount San Jacinto

 Up we go on top of Mount San Jacinto.

Riding into the 1963 Aerial Tramway. The cables are from Switzerland.

Brrrr... It is much cooler up there.

Lots of bird swirling around the meadow.

This is a midden. Squirrels' pine cones stash. They gathered them and pluck the nuts out of them.

Eva has to work on rotating. For some reason she is very resistant to it.

California - San Diego / Day 3

We started our day with a coffee at Liberty Station. And off we go to The Maritime Museum of San Diego.

HMS Surprise.  It is a replica of an 18th century Royal Navy frigate. It was built from the plan of HMS Rose.

Star of India. A merchant sailing ship from 1863. 

 

The Medea. An elegant steam yacht (still active) from 1904.

It felt a little strange walking in a submarine. Eva had fun though. We couldn't make into the U.S one.
