Breakfast with Elephants

Friday morning we went to a preschool program called Breakfast with Elephants at the Phoenix Zoo.
There are three elephants at the zoo: Indu, Reba, and Sheena.

Let's get into an elephant skin.

Let's get those Tootsie Rolls out of this barrel.

In Africa, elephants live in the savanna or forest. In Asia, their habitat is the jungle.

Elephants like to get washed too.

On the way to see the elephant. Eva was so excited to the idea of hiding cookies.

Feeding elephants gives you access into the exhibit area. We saw the zoo with an elephant eye.

This is Sheena. She is from Asia.

She is observing closely.

"Sheena is known as the shy but clever one, often figuring out new puzzle feeders before the other elephants. Sheena is very hairy which makes her easily identifiable from the other elephants."

You see she is using her trunk to shake that barrel and the cookies are coming out from that little hole. Sheena hasn't found the cookies yet. She walks slowly and like to wave to everybody with her trunk.
