Breakfast with Elephants

Friday morning we went to a preschool program called Breakfast with Elephants at the Phoenix Zoo.
There are three elephants at the zoo: Indu, Reba, and Sheena.

Let's get into an elephant skin.

Let's get those Tootsie Rolls out of this barrel.

In Africa, elephants live in the savanna or forest. In Asia, their habitat is the jungle.

Elephants like to get washed too.

On the way to see the elephant. Eva was so excited to the idea of hiding cookies.

Feeding elephants gives you access into the exhibit area. We saw the zoo with an elephant eye.

This is Sheena. She is from Asia.

She is observing closely.

"Sheena is known as the shy but clever one, often figuring out new puzzle feeders before the other elephants. Sheena is very hairy which makes her easily identifiable from the other elephants."

You see she is using her trunk to shake that barrel and the cookies are coming out from that little hole. Sheena hasn't found the cookies yet. She walks slowly and like to wave to everybody with her trunk.

Quiet Sunday

We cut sand paper letter for Eva, so she can trace her name with her finger (thank you Maman for the Montessori book)

Eva told the Three Little Pig story on the felt board.

And we watered the beans. We got three that have sprouted!!

The Swan Pose

Picking the little fuzzy balls with the toes.

The Swan pose

"I walked up the mountain, and there I saw a swan. She flew away. I sat under a tree and I cried. And there, before my eyes she came back as a pretty flower".
In italic, pretend you are a mountain, a swan, a tree and a flower in yoga poses. You can mimic the actions of flying away and crying as well.

Here is a little sign language song:
"I went for a walk (walk, walk), and I saw some flowers (flowers, flowers), I pick them up (up, up) and blow them away (blow in your hand to pretend you blow them away).

I am a rocket: 5,4,3,2,1 (lower down until knees are bent). Blast off!! Run in a circle. Landing! (Stop and lower down again for landing).
