Puerto Peñasco Trip

Cécile had the weekend off for the first time in a long time so we went to Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point, to the Zonis') in Mexico. We had the best time there. We're going back soon. Sandy Beach, Baby!
Road side
Purple...you don't see a lot of purple...
Oh, there's another pool?
It's not all about luxury.
Bella Sirena
Outside our suite...Bella Sirena Main Pool Area...wow!
Our suite. Sweet!
Wow, she's so hot.
It's so nice to see a 10 year old so assiduous.

All of a sudden in walks this chick in Mexico
Joe starts playing on a Latin kick in Mexico
Around her waist she wore three fishnets in Mexico
She started dancin' with the castanets in Mexico
I didn't know just what to expect in Mexico
She threw her arms around my neck in Mexico
We started dancin' all around the floor in Mexico
And then she did a dance I never saw before.

Limoncello

We made homemade limoncello for the first time. Surprisingly, it came out really good. We've got some arancello steeping and that should be ready in about a week. Next, we're going to try some flavored olive oils.
Barry was drinking the third bottle when Cecile took this picture.

Spring Training

It's Spring Training time in AZ again and we went out to watch the A's and the Giants play. We didn't actually watch the game. We were there to promote greyhound adoption.

Before and After

Either we're really good dog owners or we're really bad dog owners. Simone was a professional athlete. Look what we've done to her (I think you have to click on the photo to see the transformation). When we got her she was 60lbs. Now she's 80lbs.

We all get a little heavier as we get older.

San Tan Mountain Park

We drove out to Queen Creek on Saturday to see Rachel and Tom and do a little desert hiking. Rachel couldn't go. She used that "I'm giving birth in 2 weeks" excuse.

Here we all are at the top of Goldmine Mountain.
The very top is just a little bit further up that path behind us.

This is the view of the valley from up there.
Can't really see downtown Phoenix in this shot but it's way out there on the horizon.

Simone had no trouble getting up to the top but froze on the really rocky part on the way down. I had to pick her up and pass her over some particularly jagged rocks to Tom who carried her the rest of the way to safety (really jagged rocks not shown).
Simone looks particularly pathetic here.

January, 2008

The three of us on a cloudy day in Papago Park.
One of these things is not like the other. Beautiful woman, beautiful dog...oh wait...Barry can you step to the side for a second...

And this is the succulent garden Barry planted just before Christmas while he was waiting for Cécile to come home.

That's not even all of them. Went a little crazy at the Home Depot.

The New Addition

It's almost 6 weeks now since Simone joined our family and neither Cécile nor I can imagine what it would be like without her.

Here we are at Woods Canyon Lake and Tonto Creek.

Dude, nice forehead you got there!

Strike a pose

It's colder than it looks.
