Sears Kay Ruin

Off to visit some Hohokam ruins.

All the way to the top, the landscape is covered with Damianita Daisies.

Here are the ruins.

Here is a bright pink flower.

The rooms or compounds were inhabited by the ancient Hohokam between 1050 and 1200 AD.

Eva building her own ruin.

At The Horny Toad in Cave Creek. Morgane and Ophélie ready to eat the strawberry shortcake.

Cucurbita Galore

Knucklehead pumpkins.

La voisine m'a donné une courgette ronde.

Le Retour - Tuzigoot, Jerome, and Prescott

Friday morning. Our last day of exploring. Leaving the Hilton Garden Hotel for Cottonwood.

Tuzigoot or The Crooked Water in Apache.

The Verde Valley.

View of Jerome.

'The Yavapai mined the ores (Azurite, malachite) in the Jerome area and traded them to other tribes. When Spaniards arrived in 1583, Yavapai miners had already dug a shaft 18 feet deep (5 m) into the mountain. Copper was mined later by Euro-Americans.'

"... the people that used to live here are still thriving, they didn't abandon their places, they are still connected spiritually." Jerome Zunie, Pueblo of Zuni.

Driving from Jerome to Prescott and a last view of Sedona red rocks.

En Route Pour Le Grand Canyon

Breakfast in the room. Strawberry Banana fruit pouch, milk, crackers and grapes (she eats them now!!)

There we are at the Grand Canyon. Better than the San Diego Zoo.

Ophélie : Without that little girl, the trip would not have been the same.

Pretty ladies.

To Pima Point.

Eva is acting silly for Ophélie's camera.

The visit would not be the same without good friends.

Arrowweed shrub?

You can actually see the Colorado River from Pima Point.

Sweet picture.

Last pictures before heading back to Flagstaff. The best ones too.

Next time we come back we hike down.

En Route Pour Le Grand Canyon / Sedona and Flagstaff

Cholla cactus and fruit.

Datura flowers - Pretty but highly poisonous.

La chipie. Our second time at the Chapel of the Holy Cross and she acts again like a wild thing.

Nope. She won't smile to the camera.

Here is a nice smile. Our first dinner in Flagstaff at Beaver Street Brewery. Morgane and Ophelie kept Eva busy with drawing cartoon animals. Thank you Morgane and Ophelie!
